Sarah Mays-Salin Fine Art Textiles

Sarah Mays-Salin's award-winning hand-woven and hand-dyed textiles feature traditional ikat technique contrasted with hi-tech digital Jacquard elements capturing drawn and photographed

Textile designs are sourced from original drawings focusing on the small details of nature; inspirational plants, flowers, produce, animals, and insects. These bits of life suggest patterns, inspire dye technique and woven structures.

Sarah has been making textiles since childhood and has been a professional fine artist/craftsperson for over 25 years, winning awards and entrance into the American Craft Council Fine Craft Shows.

Sarah holds a BFA in Textiles from California College of The Arts in Oakland, California. Her work has been published in Fiber Arts Design Book 7; Lark Books 2004, The Complete Book of Scarves; Jo Packham, Sterling Books 1997, San Francisco Chronicle; April 1998, and The San Jose Mercury News; August 1997.
